ABOUT US
Bruce Preece, Schubert
A deep belief that politics should be about service — not status — is what drives Bruce Preece to stand for the electorate of Schubert.
Bruce believes that genuine representation starts with listening, particularly to those whose voices are too often overlooked. He is committed to turning everyday concerns into real, practical action and to being a Member of Parliament who is present, approachable, and accountable to the people he represents.
“Serving people means listening first,” Bruce says. “It means showing up, being available, and delivering outcomes that actually make a difference in people’s lives.”
As a full-time councillor, Bruce has seen firsthand how much trust matters at the local level and how important it is for elected representatives to follow through on what they promise. That experience has shaped his belief in practical, community-focused leadership rather than politics driven by ambition or ideology.
Bruce is a proud married parent, and family life keeps him grounded in the real pressures facing households across Schubert — from cost of living and housing affordability to education, health care, and the hope of a secure future for the next generation.
“When you’re raising a family, policy decisions aren’t abstract,” he says. “They affect how people live every day.”
Bruce is committed to representing families, workers, seniors, and small businesses with integrity, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility. He believes good governance is the foundation of trust between communities and their representatives.
“I believe in leadership that is transparent, ethical, and focused on long-term outcomes — not short-term political wins,” Bruce says.
His values have also been shaped beyond politics. Through medical mission work in the Philippines, Bruce witnessed the power of service, resilience, and community in some of the most challenging circumstances imaginable. Those experiences reinforced his belief that government should work for people — not the other way around.
For Schubert, Bruce believes good governance means thoughtful decision-making, responsible use of public resources, and policies that genuinely improve quality of life.
Bruce Preece is standing for Schubert to help build a system that is fair, accountable, and focused on opportunity — ensuring government is once again a force for shared progress and community trust.
A deep belief that politics should be about service — not status — is what drives Bruce Preece to stand for the electorate of Schubert.
